Most travelers take the train from Ollantaytambo or Cusco (Poroy) to Aguas Calientes, then the 25-minute bus up to the citadel. Our tours combine the train with the Sacred Valley, a night in Aguas Calientes for an early visit, or a same-day return to Cusco.
Machu Picchu tickets and circuits
Since 2024 the citadel is visited through fixed circuits with timed entry and daily limits. We buy your ticket for the circuit that matches your tour (Circuit 2 is the classic panoramic route) and can add Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain when available. Book at least 4–6 weeks ahead for June–August.
Which Machu Picchu tour should I choose?
- Full day: ideal if you are short on time and already acclimatized.
- 2 days: Sacred Valley + early morning at Machu Picchu.
- 3–4 days: add Maras, Moray, Chinchero and the Cusco city tour.

Frequently asked questions about Machu Picchu Tours
How far in advance should I book Machu Picchu?
At least 4–6 weeks for the high season (June–August) and 2–3 weeks the rest of the year. Tickets are limited per circuit and time slot.
Can I visit Machu Picchu in one day from Cusco?
Yes. Our full-day tour leaves Cusco early by train and returns the same evening, with a guided visit of around 2.5 hours.
Which Machu Picchu circuit is included?
Circuit 2 (the classic route with the iconic viewpoint) whenever available; otherwise the closest available circuit. We confirm it before payment.
Do I need my passport?
Yes, the original passport is checked at the entrance and on the train. It must match the one used to book.
